When I lived in Western Australia we would scatter seeds of native wildflowers in our garden, which I suppose meant they were no longer ‘wildflowers’ in the true sense. Sometimes those seeds grew into flowers, sometimes not. As a writer, I sometimes think about my books in the same way. From reader feedback, I know that some of my books are just pleasurable reading, but also that on some occasions they take root and can be absolutely life-changing in the lives of readers. When that happens, it makes the many hours spent at the keyboard all worthwhile.
